Nice milestones so far, 100km covered, 10hrs of running, average pace of 7:04/km
It is getting easier to run now at a comfortable pace. Just did a 8.4km/hr lasat night and really didnt feel a thing after. It felt almost as if I did not even go for a run though i had definately needed hydration.
The legs were cool and untested
I did a couple of other tests recently.
Last weekend, an attempt to do 2 longer runs within a week.
Did a 13km and a 15km
I then also tried to do a 7km fast run after the 15km the exact next day and to my surprise, I could comfortably clock in a sub 6:20/km
Tomorrow would be another test. I shall attempt to do a 18km along ECP within 2hrs. :-)
Have started to wear in my new Elite4. It is the exact same model as my previous pair.
I have a relatively flat foot and neutral pronations. Thus my concerns were more about arch support which I have had good experience with the 2007 Elite4 model.
Btw, word of advise or if somebody will correct me. I have been always buying off-season models. They go for 40% discount versus the current model and equates to cost saves of about $60 per pair of shoes. The current season Elite4 is retailing for $169, got mine 08 model at $106!!!
Oh, another wonderful discovery. BIRD is rather interesting. I can remember if I had blogged about this. I was on the verge of buying a Forerunner GPS watch but this plan was terminated when BIRD offered to exchanged my konked out Nike+ sportstrap which died on my marathon run last year FOC!!!
And apparently, the waterproofing they built in this year really does work~! hooray.
Going to be tougher going forward. October is when the I have to progress into 3 short run/week + 1 long run. This will lead up to 4 short of ~7-8km + the final 32km test run (2X ECP) planned for the last week of October.
September would probably end with ~140km clocked and need 220 in October (Avg 55km/week)
So, If you guys have time, drop by ECP on Sunday morning. We could go for a run together if you are intending to run at about 9km/hr pace. I start off at AreaB (Fort Road end) and head towards the sailing centre and backfor the 17+kms.....
Till the next post~!
